KBN APPOINTS GREEN COMMITTEE

News
Capital is an important commodity in the green shift, but so too is knowledge. KBN has brought together important figures from climate research, the local government sector, environmental organisations and national agencies to investigate what constitute the most cost-effective environmental measures.

KBN’s aim is to help drive the green shift in the Norwegian local government sector. We have access to the capital this requires, and we are now also seeking to bring together expertise on the environment and Norwegian municipalities so that we can better organise our efforts. The result of this is KBN’s Green Committee, whose primary task will be to advise on KBN’s green bond framework and green lending criteria.

First meeting held on 28 April

The Committee held its first meeting on Friday 28 April in Oslo. The main purpose of the meeting was for members to get to know one another and to learn more about KBN’s roles as an issuer of green bonds and as a lender that provides reasonably priced green loans.

Composition of the committee

KBN’s Green Committee consists of: Kjetil Bjørklund, the Head of the Department of Transport, Planning and the Environment at the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS), Kristin Linnerud, Senior Researcher at the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO), Lene Westgaard-Halle, Senior Advisor for Finance, International Affairs and Politics at Zero, Jenny Skagestad, Advisor on Transport and Cities at Zero, Anders Brage Mikkelsen, Consultant at the City of Oslo’s Climate Agency, and Rune Holmen, the Development Manager for the Manufacturing Industry, Transportation and New Technology at Enova.
