Meet our people

KBN staff consists of approximately 70 competent employees. Each and everyone is important when working to reach our company goals. Would you like to know who they are and what they do? We have asked three of them to tell us about their working day.

Marit Helde

Marit Helde (Risikoanalytiker)

Risk Analyst. Employed since July 2012.

Education: Bachelor from the Norwegian Business School in Bergen and a master from Copenhagen Business School (CBS).

What is your job and your responsibilities?

I work with the valuation of KBN debt, liquidity and derivatives. I report to Finanstilsynet (The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway) according to CRD IV (Basel III) and supervise compliance of KBN’s financial guidelines. I am also involved in collateral exchange with KBN’s providers of derivatives.

For the time being I work on the implementation of a new finance system and check that valuation, collateral, reports and various other solutions work optimally in the new system.

What do you like about working in KBN?

As KBN is a small and tightly knit organisation I get to know many areas and participate in a broader scope of interesting tasks than I would have done in a larger organisation.  I feel I know KBN very well in addition to having acquired a good knowledge of my own area of work; risk management.

Here at KBN we have a very positive and open working environment. Everyone knows everyone. Quite simply a bunch of very kind and competent people.

Andreas Alestrøm

Senior portfolio manager, Treasury. Been with KBN for eight years.

Education: Bachelor in IT and a Master in Business from Australia.

What is your job and your responsibilities?

Following ten years in the funding department I now have a different job in Treasury. In funding I was responsible together with the rest of the team for carrying out and follow through funding activities and hedging derivatives,  develop KBN’s financial and reporting systems, as well as investor relations and our investor base.

As portfolio manager in Treasury I am responsible for KBN’s running risk and liquidity management, as well as the management of KBN’s liquidity portfolio.

What do you like about working in KBN?

We have a positive work environment as well as a relatively young one.

Working in funding you get a good knowledge of the international capital markets. After many years with a fair amount of traveling around the globe to market KBN’s bonds, it is exciting to change sides working as an investor and building new business relationships in the Norwegian market.

Børge Daviknes

ansatte i Kommunalbanken

Senior Relationship Manager. Been with KBN for nearly 16 years,  the first two and a half years in Treasury and then the lending department.

Education: Master in Business and Economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany. The NFF Fixed Income Analyst seminar.
(NFF= The Norwegian Society of Financial Analysts.

What is your job and your responsibilities?

I work in the lending department responsible for relationships and portfolio of our customers in a number of counties.  At present I am responsible for the counties of Hordaland, Rogaland and Oslo. In addition I have a particular responsibility for toll road companies - a group of customers with relatively large and long-term loans.

We are seven in the lending team sharing counties and work tasks among ourselves. During a colleague's absence, we have to take on our colleagues tasks as well. Daily the most important task is to follow up on loan offers. We travel to visit customers and we attend conferences.

What do you like about working in KBN?

KBN is a small and transparent organisation with management and staff working closely together. Consistent growth over many years combined with changing regulatory requirements means growing activity with new and interesting tasks for everyone.

I have heard previous employees say repeatedly that they have never experienced such a good working environment as in KBN.
