Municipalities join forces building crisis centre

Romerike Crisis Centre's new building in Skedsmokorset opening this summer, has been financed through loans in KBN amounting to NOK 55 million.

In front of around hundred guests the minister of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, Ms Solveig Horne, declared the centre for officially opened. She thanked the Romerike municipalities for joining forces to maintain a crisis centere instead of closing down as many other municipalities have done.

Fourteen municipalities have joined forces and created one common crisis centre. The centre consists of 16 well-equipped residential rooms with altogether 62 beds, with spacious day rooms and outdoor areas. According to general manager, Ms. Laila Darrani, the centre should be able to accomodate everyone in need of help the coming 20 years.
