Shorter travel between Bergen and Oslo

The stretch of motorway between Sokna and Ørgenvika on classified road 7 was opened by Minister of Transport Ketil Solvik-Olsen on 27 June of this year. The traveling distance for commuters between the eastern and western part of Norway along the classified road 7 was shortened by 21 km or approximately 20 minutes.

The toll road company Hallingporten Vegfinans Ltd. is responsible for financing part of the construction and was granted NOK 1.2 billion by KBN in 2010. The loan is guaranteed by an unconditional guarantee of payment from Buskerud county and are to be repaid through income from toll rings during a period of 15 years running from the day of completion. Total cost is stipulated to NOK 1.56 billion.
